Education at Odyssey encompasses numerous disciplines and paths to learning, including emotional intelligence or affective education. We believe strongly that preparing middle schoolers for high school requires a variety of "in the classroom" and "beyond the classroom" experiences. For example, students participate in a camp trip at the beginning of each school year designed to develop
leadership and participate in outdoor education. Team work and self discovery are emphasized and a strong foundation of cooperation is laid for the balance of the school year.
Experiential education in the classroom is epitomized by the Rube Goldberg project that students participate in at some point during their three years at Odyssey. This is a creative, hands-on science project that develops, not only science and inventive skills, but group social skills. Travel and projects are an integral part of the experiential education at Odyssey.
